Guy Harvey Saltwater Fishing Camp
Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation has generously donated well over $10,000 to the camp. Dozens of kids get to learn and enjoy fishing because of equipment and supplies donated to the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department. David Ramirez, County recreation program supervisor oversees the fishing camp. David has done an amazing job with all of the young anglers and has provided guest speakers who share their fishing stories and techniques. The Guy Harvey Saltwater Fishing Camp in Hillsborough County is open to boys and girls ages 9 -15 years of age. Every day starts with fishing for a few hour followed by a guest speaker.During camp, kids will learn the basics like knot tying, how to throw a cast net and how to clean a fish. Fishing rules and regulations will also be covered, including proper de-hooking and fish release.
Camps like this are important to ensure the conservation and responsibilities that come along with being an angler. More info on the camps provided by Hillsborough county can be found here http://hillsboroughcounty.org/summercamps
